Dear Future Me,
I bet you weren't expecting a letter from your past self, were you?
Well, you probably were, considering we're the same person and
you'd have to know I was writing you a letter since you wrote it in the
past so I guess you know already what's in this letter, right? Do I even
need to write it? If I don't write it… will that set off a chain of events
that lead to the you who won't read this being someone completely different!?
I've watched 'Back to the Future' far too many times.
Well, I'm going to write it. I guess I can't offer you infinite insight
about your future since I'm writing forward as opposed to back, and
My parents bought a little two-bedroom house when they first got married. It was run down, falling apart, but most importantly: cheap.
Two years later, my mother fell pregnant with me. She immediately abandoned her job for some plaster and paint and set about decorating the untouched spare room. She splashed pastel yellow across the walls, replaced the dingy carpet and kitted out the room with furniture.
Sixteen years after my birth, and the yellow paint is flaking off the walls revealing the kiwi green beneath. I can peel back the corners of the carpet to reveal the worn underlay and half rotten floorboards. I can examine the fringe of my

Hunting for beauty. Part 6
Hello everybody!
Sorry for a delay, but I had a lot of work. I wanted to finish some measurements before Christmas, so on Friday I stayed at work extra long (I went off half an hour till midnight :D) and today I was cleaning my flat. But now, time to relax.
Toady music with a special dedication for Marc, who, as I know, enjoys a lot watching beautiful women:
And time for another feature :)
Another beautiful snowflake shot by Alexey Kljatov by an equipment he developed to do it:
Here I love the atmosphere of wild, semi-barren land and a play with colors - how the yellow and red tones are repeated on the sky and on the leaves. And the shar

In this guide I'd like to introduce you to timed studies, including a guide on how to effectively do timed practise studies, as well as some do's and don'ts.
What is a timed study?
A timed study is exactly what the name suggests: a painting study done during a set time. That time limit can be anything from a few seconds to an hour or two, depending on what it is you want to practise. "Study" can mean: 1) from a reference image and/or 2) preparatory drawing for a "full" piece (to practise a certain element of the future artwork or as a way to experiment before beginning the "real" artwork). Usually reference images are invo
I believe that llamas cannot be dishonest in how you use them, whereas a favorite or watch can be given dishonestly.
I believe that it's pointless to get angry over llamas. You can turn off the notifications for them and forget about it.

It doesn't matter how llamas are given. No matter what, by being active on the site you'll receive them either way.
Llamas can help you get pageviews because some people become curious as to why or how you gave them one.
Llamas have helped me gain many friends on dA. Not just through mutual interest, but also through giving.
I've joked with my friends that I may end up meeting my future

I was inspired to create this series by naikki (https://www.deviantart.com/naikki) while looking through her gallery of diverse artwork and reading through her journals which are focused on her favorite inspiring writers and thinkers. I felt certain there must be beautiful artwork in the form of portraits and tributes to these writers and their stories. I found most of naikki's choices of quotes to be inclusionary, redeeming and welcoming to any artist on their own path. Instead of just crediting naikki with the inspiration for this new series on depthRADIUS (https://www.deviantart.com/depthradius), I also invited her to provide a quote about He
